- All waters are only open to Association members, in possession of a current membership book. This must be produced on demand by any authorised bailiff or by any person producing their own membership book. No person will be allowed to fish who is unable to prove their current membership of the association. Any member is empowered to challenge any person(s) on the Poppy Hill complex who they believe not to be a member. Persons unable to prove membership shall be deemed to be trespassing and will be asked to leave the property unless approved by the GPC.
- Under no circumstances should damage be caused to any adjoining crops, trees, fences hedges or the waters in and around our property. All gates must be closed and locked immediately after use.
- All boats, rafts or other floating devices are strictly prohibited on LGCAA waters except at organised work parties.
- Camping is not allowed on Association waters, except for brollies and bivvies and then only for a limited period of 72hr in a 7 day period.
- Brollies and bivvies must be erected within 1m of the rod butts and clear of paths where possible.
- No fish may be removed from Association waters except at the discretion of the FMC/GPC.
- All fish to be returned alive to the water they were caught from
- Fish deaths must be reported to a Bailiff or committee member.
- No fish should be taken away without the permission of LGCAA. To do so may give rise to a criminal prosecution under schedule 1 \ section 3 or the Theft Act.
- Any member deliberately leaving any gate open that forms part of the otter fence will be expelled from the association.
- Live baiting is permitted on Association waters. All live bait must be taken from the water currently being fished and should not exceed 6″ in length. Live-baits should not be transferred from water to water.
- The Association usually operates a closed period at Poppy Hill between 1st and 15th June. Members who have completed 18 hours of work on official work-parties throughout the year will be allowed to fish from midnight 31st May. This applies to all members alike and is at the discretion of the GPC. Pre-baiting before June 16th is only allowed with GPC permission.
- Parking at Poppy Hill is restricted to the designated carpark. No vehicles may proceed beyond the carpark nor may they park outside the entrance gate. There is no vehicular access from Langford end of track.
- Poppy Hill is 2 rods only on Lake 1 and 2, which must be positioned within 1m of each other. Tackle and rods must not be left unattended while baited and in the water. No braided mainlines. Canal and Jubilee are 1 rod only.
- Audio / visual appliances can be used providing they are kept to a low volume and do not cause nuisance to other anglers.
- Dogs are prohibited at Poppy Hill
- The following applies to the Canal and Jubilee lake only:
- Barbless hooks only
- Use of boilies is prohibited
- No electronic bite alarms
- No bivvies
- No night fishing (dusk to dawn only)
- 1 rod only
- No hook bait or ground bait may be dug for or searched for on Association or adjoining property or any of the waters used by the Association.
- All anglers fishing with the specific aim of catching specimen fish must be in possession of an unhooking mat and suitably sized landing net.
- No member is allowed to be in possession of alcohol or drugs or to be adjudged to be under the influence of drink or drugs while on Association property. If found to be in contravention of this rule, offenders will be escorted of the property.
- Trout pellets in al forms are banned from the Poppy Hill complex.
- Junior members are not allowed to night fish Association waters unless accompanied by an adult member and fishing the same or adjacent swims.
- Members must not light fires on any Association property
- The Association reserves the right to suspend angling activities for any reason that in their opinion may be injurious to the fish, fishing or members.
- Brolly and bivvy shelters are not to be used in the following swims on Lake 1: No’s 1,2,3,21,2,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,30,31 and 32. (Rule19 applies see club book)
- Single hook rigs only with the exception of pile fishing.
Any angler in breach of Association rules or bye-laws will be subject to an endorsement. The general purposes committee will be made aware of any offence which could result in expulsion. The Bailiff is empowered to confiscate the offending members book which will only be returned after a period of time to be determined by the GPC. During this period the member is banned from all Association waters.
