We’re almost at the end of what has become a bizarre year in angling, the likes of which we hope we never have to experience again. The current club book expires on Sunday evening. Normally we would have closed Poppy Hill on the 30th to allow those who attended the workparties their two weeks of having the lakes to themselves. This year as we were unable to hold our usual April / May workparties due to the Covid-19 restrictions we have decided to not have this closed period.
However, the Fisheries Management will be carrying out essential maintenance on the evening of Sunday 31st. We will be out in the boat on Lake 2 between 7pm and 8:30pm. Be prepared for a small amount of disturbance and you may be asked to reel in for a short while.
If you have both the current book and the new 2020/21 book, then you can carry on fishing as long as you observe the current 24hr session rule. Please note though as previously published, LGCAA’s access to Lake 3 ends on the 31st May and will not be included in the new book. Make sure you have left Lake 3 by Sunday evening.
If you just have the new 2020/21 book, then this starts Monday June 1st you will not be able to access Poppy Hill before then.
Got just the current club book and have not renewed your membership you will need to ensure you have left Poppy Hill no later than 8pm Sunday 31st.
Thanks for your support and tight lines for the forthcoming season
