Heavy rain during the week increased the flow of the Ivel for the annual Sunday match upstream from Jordans mill.  With some colour back in the water and fish topping in places a change in pegging out was made.

All but one angler caught some fish for their efforts even when the rain threatened to cause havoc and wind speeds slowly increasing during the day.

Club bailiff Ray Sparks went for gold on peg 3 which was left hand side of the point looking upstream.  Ray trotted maggots down towards the road bridge for a bag a small silvers which gave him a return of 5lb 8oz.

Stevenage angler Clive ‘M’ Robertson slid into second place from upstream peg 8. Clive used various tactics to land a net of silvers for a weight of 3lb 14oz.

Letchworth angler Dave Batcheldor earned third place from peg 1 which was on the right hand side of the point into the main flow of the river. Dave didn’t land a lot of fish but found some nice plump roach for a weight 2lb 5oz
