7 Anglers turned up for the clubs first outing on the river Ouse at Felmersham.

After several weeks of low rainfall the river was down nearly a foot and running slow and clear. The temperatures rose during the day but were tempered by the constant wind blowing down the river which gave anglers using the pole at full length a problem with presentation.

Dave Batcheldor won the day from peg 7 with a weight of 8lb 9oz. Dave’s tactics of plain worm on the hook and some potted in maggot helped him to net some perch and a 4lb tench from a few metres out on the pole.

Stevenage angler Steve Poplett took a variety of fish including bleak on maggot and roach on tares. Steve pulled much favoured peg 13 out of the bag and his final weight was 8lb 4oz.

Overall Sunday league positions (Top 3) – 1st Kevin Farrow 51 points,   2nd Clive Robinson 47 points,   3rd Dave Batcheldor 46 points.
