After weeks of wind and rain it was pleasing to fish in bright sunshine with only a gentle breeze. The down side of the super weather was the very high canal towpath activity with joggers, cycles and walkers out in large numbers. There was plenty of evidence of the recent storms through floating debris. All who took part caught had plenty of fish although in some areas they were very small.
Top weight came from Clive Robinson with 6lbs 4ozs. He opted to fish with worm or pinkies on the hook over potted chopped worm and ground bait. After a slow start with 30 or so tiny perch Clive landed skimmers and quality roach.

At the next peg to the winner Dave Batcheldor scaled 5lbs 8ozs. He too had a poor start with no fish for two hours but things came good when the skimmers turned up over his ground bait and were tempted by a flouro pinkie on the hook.

Steve Mayes in third placed most used waggler and maggot tactics for 4lbs 15ozs

1st - 7 Clive Robinson 6lb 4oz
2nd - 8 Dave Batcheldor 5lb 8oz
3rd - 3 Steve Mayes 4lb 15oz
4th - 6 Dick Sayers 4lb 9oz
