Pegs were squeezed between boats moored on the tow path for this match.  Despite the lake of room the quality of the fishing made the effort worthwhile with the lowest weight being a creditable 4lbs.

Bites were plentiful but those who found the big perch topped the result list.  Leading the way was Toby Bird with a total of 11lbs 11ozs.  Toby was able to fish close to the barges hitched to the far bank and his net included skimmers, roach and three big perch tempted by worm on the hook.

The scales could not split the next two as both Clive Robinson and Mike Clarke both recorded 7lbs 14.5ozs.  Clive was drawn next to the winner and along with numerous ‘eye-ball’ roach he put two big perch and skimmers in the net. Mike’s catch included a brace of roach/bream hybrids along with roach and perch tempted by worm or double maggot.

The next best result was Steve Mayes with 6lbs 13ozs taken on waggler & maggot tactics from the peg next to the new road bridge.
